Editor's note: Senior members of non-Communist parties of China were invited to share their insights on the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War at a news conference in Beijing on Friday. Excerpts:

During the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45), the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang had not been formally established. However, through the war against Japanese aggression, many predecessors of the RCCK increasingly recognized that the Communist Party of China was the backbone of the war and the leader of national rejuvenation, ultimately choosing to accept the CPC's leadership. The cooperation between non-Communist parties and the CPC during the war provides valuable inspirations: First, unwavering acceptance of the CPC's leadership is essential to ensure the correct path and direction. Second, pure unity forms an indestructible force capable of overcoming all challenges and achieving national rejuvenation.

The victory in World War II not only ended the severe threat of militarism and fascism to world peace, but also reshaped the post-war international order and strengthened humanity's resolve for peaceful development. The establishment of the post-war international order is a precious achievement obtained through the sacrifices of people worldwide, including the Chinese people, and it must be respected and protected. We understand that peace is hard-earned, and maintaining world peace and standing for fairness and justice are the lessons WWII imparts to all humanity.

During the 50 years of Japanese colonial rule, Taiwan compatriots, with a glorious tradition of patriotism, bravely resisted Japanese invaders alongside Chinese mainland compatriots. Over 650,000 Taiwan people sacrificed their lives for national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The CPC significantly advanced Taiwan's recovery movement, and its policies were actively supported by Taiwan compatriots. They recognized that only under CPC leadership, by forming a united front with mainland compatriots, could they ultimately achieve the goal of ending Japanese colonial rule.

The best way to commemorate history is to take historical initiative and create new history. We will inspire patriotic spirit through the great spirit of resisting aggression and contribute to the construction of a strong nation through scientific and technological innovation. Patriotic sentiment is the core of the great spirit of resisting aggression, and serving the country through science is the spiritual legacy of generations of Jiusan Society members.

The China Zhi Gong Dang perpetuates the great spirit of resisting aggression through various means. We regularly organize party members to visit and learn from revolutionary education bases, leveraging our close ties with overseas Chinese to promote the spirit of resisting aggression among them. We must uphold the one-China principle and advance the cause of national reunification. Taiwan's recovery from Japanese colonial rule is an important result of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression achieved through the relentless struggle and sacrifice of all Chinese people, including Taiwan compatriots. The China Zhi Gong Dang will strengthen ties with Taiwan compatriots, enhance their recognition of the mainland, and advance the cause of national reunification.
