Emergency assistance provider International SOS said on Thursday it intends to intensify efforts toward serving Chinese clients on risk management amid their overseas venture, which has been increasing over recent years.
John Williams, managing director of International SOS (China), highlighted the significant growth in the overseas market demand from Chinese clients, particularly those involved in the Belt and Road Initiative in the past decade.
"Recognizing the importance of the Chinese market, International SOS is intensifying its efforts to better serve Chinese clients by increasing investments in these regions and deploying dedicated resources worldwide to accelerate specialized services for Chinese customers," he said.
Williams said that International SOS is accelerating the provision of comprehensive Chinese-language services for Chinese enterprises in global markets, especially in regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Following the establishment of a team for Chinese clients at the Dubai Assistance Center in the United Arab Emirates in early 2023, the company said it aims to further step up efforts in this sector to ensure round-the-clock exclusive services, catering to the specific needs of its Chinese clients.
According to a risk outlook report released by SOS on Thursday, alerts related to climate-related medical and safety issues have increased in 2023 compared to the same period last year, with medical alerts rising by 80 percent.
International SOS currently has Chinese-speaking staff stationed in 16 assistance centers worldwide, further underlining its commitment to meeting the needs of Chinese clients across the globe.
