Xindu district in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, introduced its plan for the Liaojiawan future park community on March 10, to attract investors and to share Xindu's development opportunities.
Liaojiawan is a key location in Xindu's central axis. In line with Chengdu's efforts to build itself into a park city, Xindu will construct a future park community in Liaojiawan.
The park city concept was first introduced in Chengdu in February 2018. It is not simply to build parks in the city, but explore a new development model and generate a driving force for high-quality urban development.
The Liaojiawan area attaches great importance to the ecological well-being of citizens and will mainly develop industries that focus on innovation and entrepreneurship incubation, science and technology, and new consumption, said local officials.
The core part of the Liaojiawan area, called Liaojiawan Park, will cover 97.9 hectares and be built into a future park community that will integrate three functions: being an ecological green heart, being an exchange center, and creating new consumption experiences.
"Liaojiawan will play an important role in supporting Xindu's integration into the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle," said the officials, adding that the area is turning into a new industrial development hub in north Chengdu.
The area is home to a number of corporate headquarters projects and commercial centers, including the Southwest headquarters of AVIC Construction Group, the West headquarters of Beijing Uxsino Software Co Ltd, and Chengdu Haining Leather City.
Local government is also introducing high-quality education and medical resources to Liaojiawan, to improve public services in the area.
Xindu is a transportation hub, trade center and industrial corridor in the northern part of the Chengdu metropolitan area. With a permanent population of 1.62 million, it is the most populated district in Chengdu. Its GDP reached 103.26 billion yuan ($15.1 billion) in 2022.
