Modern and contemporary Indonesian art have been heatedly discussed in international art circles for years. Meanders in the Tropics, an ongoing exhibition at Tsinghua University Art Museum until July 18, addresses this intensive interest in the art of 20th century Indonesia.

On show are drawings, paintings, sculptures and video works which are dated as early as the 1930s. The show traces the diversity in style and themes of Indonesian art throughout a century, and reflects the social influence as the country evolved in different stages of history.
