Zara, a global top fast-fashion brand under the world leading fashion retailer Inditex Group, opened its largest Asia store in Beijing on Friday, equipped with all the latest technology for an integrated and sustainable experience, showing the company's ambition and strong confidence in the Chinese market.

The new store, on the popular Wangfujing street in the center of Beijing, is an innovative four-story establishment spanning over 3,500 square meters.

Emphasizing design elements, such as its smooth and circular shapes, the store has a spacious environment to display its latest collections to complement its online offerings, leaving room for housing standalone cosmetics, footwear and clothing personalization labs.

For example, the store has eight curved LED screens to guide shoppers in a comfortable and pleasant way.

The store also has given more priority to online orders by providing rapid payment booths on every floor. The store's stock is available to service online orders, so that it serves as a small fashion distribution platform thanks to Inditex's proprietary integrated stock management technology. The store also features Zara Home items.

The new store shows the group's continuous efforts to expand its global online and store integration, digitalization and sustainability, despite the impact of the coronavirus epidemic, which has led to temporary store closures in the first half of the year for Inditex.

By the end of July, 7,026 stores, or 96 percent, of its total stores were open. However, its online sales have seen growth of 74 percent in the first half of the year compared with that of a year ago.

Inditex Group has other seven brands, including Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti and Bershka, selling in more than 200 markets.

Inditex opened its first store in China, a Zara store in the IFCMall in Hong Kong, in May 2004.

It now has more than 10,000 employees in the country and operates in over 50 cities through its integrated and innovative platform of stores and online, selling its eight brands' collections nationwide through the brands' online platforms and Alibaba group's Tmall.
