Polish Circles of Art in China Festival kicked off in Beijing on October 25. In its third year, the festival aims at showcasing the diversity of Polish cinematography, both its contemporary accomplishments as well as well-known classic works. Polish actor Maciej Zakościelny opened the festival.

Two Polish films will be screened for the first time in Asia, the Cannes awarded film, Cold War, by Polish filmmaker Paweł Pawlikowski and Squadron 303, directed by Denis Delic, which brings to light the less known stories of Polish pilots, who played an important part in the Battle of Britain during the World War II. Other highlights will see Academy Award-wining Polish director Andrzej Wajda's film, The Promised Land, and Polish film director Krzysztof Kieślowski's The Double Life of Véronique.

The festival will tour eight Chinese cities, including Beijing, Hangzhou and Chengdu, until the end of December this year, with a variety of activities to be held, including film screenings, concerts and art exhibitions.
