A Harbin Engineering University team won the 21st RoboSub Competition on Monday in San Diego, California.
RoboSub is an exciting underwater robotics program in which teams of high school and college students from around the world design and build an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle.
These vehicles are designed to navigate through a series of tasks. The tasks mimic ongoing research in Autonomous Underwater Systems.
After nearly one year's preparation by its 35 members, the team's outstanding performance in the competition surpassed the other 46 teams from different universities, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Cornell University.
Their top performance also helped China become the third country in the world to win the contest. The others are the US and Canada.
