BEIJING - A journal titled Unmanned System Technology was launched in Beijing to promote the research as well as the application of unmanned technology, according to the publisher, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC).

The bimonthly journal will focus on the basic theory of unmanned technology and state-of-the-art innovations to create a platform for academic exchange and interdisciplinary research. Its target readers include researchers, engineers and managerial staff working with unmanned system technologies.

Wei Yiyin, deputy manager of CASIC, said that unmanned systems are a combination of integrated research, control science and information technology.

"They have a wide application in industrial systems, public services and consumer products," Wei said.

China has seen an increasing application of unmanned technology in areas such as self-driving cars, drones and smart factories in recent years.
